who do i admire?
Shirin Neshat is an Iranian artist who explores some of the cultural and traditional issues that shape her ethnic background. She places a particular emphasis on women in her works, using photography and collage to express their extreme oppression in Iran. Her works are elegant and honest, piercing and important. Artworks like this are the reason why I do the work that I do. They make the world a much more interesting place.
